Touching Lives

Everyone she comes in contact with is touched by her life. Members of her family have talked with me about the things she does that affect their lives. I’ve heard stories from co-workers about what it was like to work with her. Former customers of hers relate how it felt to be waited on by her.

And she touched my life.

After being around her, I would feel like pulling my hair out. She was constantly discovering some new disease in her body. The weather was too hot … or too cold … or too sunny … or too cloudy. No matter what the conversation started out to be, she always switched it to be about her.

She continues to touch lives.

We all touch other people’s lives. That can be a good thing … or a bad thing … depending on our attitude.

What kind of touching am I doing? How about you?

Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don't have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn't yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.

You wouldn't think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you'd be asking for what you have no right to. You're spoiled children, each wanting your own way.” James 4:1-3 (MSG)
